Why are food service drivers paid twice as much as beer truck drivers? Seems like it's essentially the same job, if anything beer would be harder.

Food service workers should be paid more than beer truck drivers. Their work is 10 times harder.

Badmon and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
Looks like work to me.
bzinger, Speed_Drums and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
I'm not implying beer deliveries are easy.
I'm saying food service is harder.
Think of 2000 cases of refrigerated/frozen food stacked in a trailer and you have to unload all of it. The drivers picks up every one of those 2000 cases and two-wheels them down a ramp at the back of the trailer and then takes them inside the store/restaurant, etc.
Foodservice drivers earn that $100G+ a year and more. -
2000 20-80lb cases sounds much more manageable than 100 90-170lb kegs + 350 beer cases.
I'm still not seeing a major difference here, other than that one is beer and one is food.Magoo1968 Thanks this. -
Kinda looks like the same ######## to me.
dunchues, bzinger, Speed_Drums and 3 others Thank this. -
They should both make about the same.
Beer would be harder though, those kegs are a B..ch to move.LtlAnonymous, Touch Freight Freddy, Magoo1968 and 1 other person Thank this. -
