That would be scarey seeing a bunch of bees swarming around.I've hauled crates of bees, don't think I wasn't plenty nervous.

Are you sure they weren't attracted to all the urine?
-
They also like the smell of anitfreeze. I've had some bad times working on the truck at home on days when my bees were out doing their thing. I have to reserve that kind of work for days when it's too cold for them to come over and check it all out.
Big Don Thanks this. -
Bee swarms are actually pretty cool. They typically don't have a hive when they swarm or gather somewhere, so they're very docile since they have nothing to defend. You can walk right up to the swarm and it really doesn't seem to bother them.

Search for a YouTube video of a guy sticking his hand (slowly!) Into a swarm of bees and not getting stung.
-
Heck, when you go to collect a swarm, you put a hive box under whatever they're all clumped on, then give the clump of bees a whack to knock them into the hive box. If you manage to knock the queen in when you do that, the other bees left around will all follow her. They really are pretty cool about not stinging you in that circumstance. I don't glove up or put on my bee suit to do it.

that you are correct.when I hauled bees the customer would bring me the paperwork because drivers weren't allowed to get out of trk and he never had any special gear on.

Most definitely. Even Oprah agrees that Bees are our little friends.......

Bee stings hurt like heck, but don't seem to cause any reaction for me. One Sand Hill Hornet sting, however, and my knee swelled up to about twice it's size. One Benadril took care of that, however. If an epipen is not handy, any anti-histamine will help in a pinch.
