Sean is a good friend of mine. He’s helped me tremendously here at Abilene. The difference between the two of us is very simple, he has absolutely no problem telling anyone exactly the good or bad of the company. I’m in a unique position in my life, I’m at the end of my career, my retirement is in place, I train here because I want too, not for the extra logbook, my miles, earnings and work relationship works perfectly for ME. Is Abilene the end all be all? Nope, is there total screwups in the office and operations? Yep. Is it frustrating at times? Most certainly. But I will tell you this, what I need the last few years of my career I have here, namely what I earn, my time off, my vacation, my 401K that broke 6 figures last week and the ability to voice my displeasure when I have too.

I look forward to Sean’s discussion about the company when we see each other at the yard or up in Canada. I get great insight into the good or the bad. No two people are the same or require the same things. He’s a friend and after all these years here, he’s earned the right to say what he wants. He’s not going to BS anyone. As they say, the truth hurts sometimes, I for one need to hear the truth, and there’s no one else I’d want to hear it from then Sean.

This is the epitome of a classy post, from a gentleman. Congrats on your 401(k) success. May your retirement, whenever you enter it, be more enjoyable and relaxing than you expected. Safe travels until then.

Don’t give a #### if I get a ‘fee’ or not. Have simply seen probably a thousand drivers arrive, and depart within a month. They think they are going to zip to L.A. and back and go nuts when they get the first Brooklyn load .

I know not of these mythical places of which you speak of. (At least not lately since I have to be close to home.)

They need to put this online with the application. It would cut down on the revolving door issue. And for those that need explaining, it means NYC, Chicago, and every other major US city.

It's always funny to me when I see posts here on TTR and some driver is saying....."I told them I won't go here or there or I don't drive at night, or when it's raining, and I'm not staying out longer than".....etc.,

My humble opinion is, if you come into my company and have demands other than what is clearly stated on our website, get your own truck or find a company that is a good fit.

It's been a pleasure meeting you, have a nice day. And by the way, watch that door it closes pretty fast, lol.

Chicago, other than heavy traffic, is actually fairly easy. Always use the 24hr phone number listed under Illinois restricted/low clearance section in Motor Carriers Atlas. Yes, these are human beings in the streets/sanitation department that will get you safely into and out of Chicago.
