Sounds like your getting plenty of miles to get ur adventure underway. Looks like I'll be starting on the 17th of Aug at Ocala let me know what you thought of it there? Keep that positive attitude.

It's a real nice truck for sure. The sleeper is bit crowded but it rides like a caddy and pulls for days!

Going there for road training or just orientation? Either way you should be happy. The operation there is very efficient and laid back, all the folks are real nice. I hear the shop is a bit slow but I haven't heard any major complaints. Good luck to ya and hope to meet ya.

I don't know about you Kevin but I'm about at the point where I don't know where I am about 75% of the time. I just start my driving shift with a plan for where I'm heading and where the truckstops/rest areas are along the way. Last night I drove 543 miles but had only planned for about 400 or so. I caught a good second wind and only stopped because I was running close to my 11. Mentor was happy that he only had about 4 hours to drop point instead of 6 or 7. Now headed to repower a load dropped at a truckstop in MO, then complete that drop in Mateno IL. Then off to somewhere in MN. I'm in the sleeper so not sure of all the specifics.
Hope all is well with you!

Heh, that sounds pretty familiar Sonny ! These last two back to back 1000+ milers really screwed my head up LOL. We were a few hours out of Syracuse and got two preplans that were jam tight on our schedule but we took em anyway hehe. I'm at the TA in. Erie PA right now on the tail end of the second load bound for a live unload at 0700 in Avon OH. I was real happy for the downtime afforded by driving better than half today. I was needing a shower pretty badly. Figuring out how to utilize the rest times is my tricky part. It is getting easier but has been a challenge. All in all I'm doing well and my mentor is happy with my progress. Was nice to see Lake Erie in daylight for a change!! Take care now!

Wow, a week ago! Time is sure flying by! At this writing I've got about 11 more days of over the road training left or as it equates out 106ish more hours needed. That is hours on line 3 therefore dependent on our DM keeping us moving. They've just now started preplanning us in a 'team' mode so the next 11 days should fly by. I'm currently in Ocala again after a run down from Suffolk VA to Jacksonville FL. Have to pick up a hook at K-Mart and pull it to Camden SC for delivery tomorrow then on to Hendersonville, NC for another hook going out to Paris, TX. That should take me out to at least Tuesday I'd wager. It's been a fun and exhilarating experience thus far and the learning process is definitely something different than anything I've ever done. Will I be ready to solo after 240 hours? I feel like I'll be capable of handling the job on my own, but I'm sure the apprehension will take a week or so to settle down. Ahh well, if it raises my concentration level all the better. Swift's training program isn't perfect in my opinion at this stage, but it's getting the job done in my case. YMMV
