I always kept a little book and every stop write down the city and odometer. But that's mainly for paper loggers. You do have a trip set on the odometer to record your daily mileage.

 

It replaces the level and, like Sammycat said, came at my request to the forum ops. "Wheel dog" is a sled dog term. All dogs in the group of dogs that pull a sled have names. The "lead dog" is the smartest and leads the rest of the team. The lead dog is also the only one with a picture during the trip that changes! The dogs closest to the sled are the "wheel dogs" and, because they have the most direct pull on the sled and human occupant/s, are the strongest of the bunch. So, being Alaskan and the closest to the cab and being the strongest makes me the wheel dog!

By the way, that picture of mine is of the Green Bus. It carries passengers of all kinds and is the only vehicle allowed full access to the only road in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.

There will be a test at the end of the week.

 

But I don't have time to study....
