Doing well. Mostly just post on a Con-way thead now. Just had my first venture in and out of the NYC Metro area. They even made me do it twice in 24 hours.:biggrin_25513:

Glad to hear you are doing well man! NYC isn't bad. Actually we use to love going in and out of there. Gave us an excuse to be pigs and hit all the deli's! Loved it!

    Hello Everyone. :biggrin_25511:

Sorry that I've been gone for so long, but I've been pretty busy. My truck hasn't stopped moving since the last time I was on. There's a lot of freight moving this time of year.

I wasn't able to put in for home time for Thanksgiving, so I've decided to stay out until Christmas. That will be about 11 weeks without a break......well, I did get one night at home during a reset, but that doesn't count.

Tonight I'm in Walton, KY on my 10 hr break. I'm taking the chance to do some laundry which has been building up over the weeks. :biggrin_2552: I love doing laundry.

Staying out this long does have its drawbacks. The most notable is running out of supplies (food for one). I need to stop and shop, but finding the time has been pretty hard. The timetables for the deliveries has been very close, and to ensure on time deliveries, I haven't had the time to replenish my stores.

That should change shortly because I've been fighting my 70 clock. That's reflected in this weeks paycheck because all the runs have been under 500 miles. I don't get back enough hours to make any long hauls. My truck is due for a PM before 12/1. So I should be restocked in the next week or so.

Well, hate to type and run, but I have to fold some laundry. I'll update on my runs in the next few days.

    Thanks for reading.

    -Wedge

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

    Happy Thanksgiving Wedge!
Hopefully you at least will get a decent meal today.
11 weeks is a LONG time to be out when you are new and I am glad to hear that the most notable part you find is getting your supplies. I guess that you are adjusting well to OTR life.

Remember my friend if you EVER make up to my neck of the woods.......sigh. And I see so MANY USX trucks when I am on the NY State thruway.....I think though alot are dedicated that I see around Rochester since they have the Dollar tree acct.

Stay safe my friend and thanks for the update!!!!:biggrin_25514:

    Wedge Thanks this.

Happy T-Day man! Don't forget your TA Turkey! Sounds like your runnin pretty good man! I had a feeling you would pick it up fairly quickly and know how to hustle out there! Very, very smart man! Now is the best time to squeeze in as many miles as possible. Freight is good now till Xmas but the day after Xmas it comes to a halt! Save your days off for then. Don't get complacent till then or let your guard down because of fatigue. When you are out for long periods of time like that and you get worn down is usually the best time for something to go wrong. So just be extra careful in your every day doings and make sure to remind yourself about safety and to pay attention.

    Drive safe man....

Too bad you had to can your DM. I hope your new DM will keep you moving. I was thinking about switching to dedicated. We move a lot of freight for Tractor Supply. Nice clean runs. Just don't know how busy they'll stay after the holidays. Not too much farming going on with snow on the ground...lol.

Send me a PM with your truck number. I think I keep seeing you guys in my travels.

You will stay busier than us dry van folks after the holidays. People still need to eat. :biggrin_25525:

    Thanks, Sammycat. :biggrin_25514:

This is the first Thanksgiving I've ever spent away from the family. There were quite a few drivers spending T-Day in their trucks.

I went to PU a load at a Kroger DC on Thanksgiving, and the load was ready but there was no one there to give me the BOL I needed. I went back again about 4 hours later and still nothing. :biggrin_25510: I gave up and went back to the TS to spend the evening watching episodes of "The Unit".

Haven't made it to the store to re-supply my truck yet. I keep getting pre-plans before I finish delivering the load I'm on, so there has been next to no down time.

You better not forget my coffee!!!!!!:biggrin_25516: :biggrin_2559:

I'm getting closer to you, I'm in Beaverdam, Ohio right now at a Pilot. I'm heading into Michigan. This load doesn't deliver until Monday, but I'm toying with the idea of squeezing out a 34 so I can get this "I don't have enough hours" monkey off my back.

Adjusting to the life style was easier than I thought. I don't know about this 11 weeks out stuff. I was planning to be home sometime around T-Day. I delayed getting in my home time request so I was relegated to remaining out. I'll make up for it at Christmas. Kids are coming home!!

We always PU in the area that we deliver to, and they've been sending me into New Jersey alot, so who knows. You my get a call from me soon. :biggrin_25525:
