The vibration was at the top of my list and they didn't fix it. It's a dynamic vibration for sure. Starts at 45, cleans up at 55, shakes my mirrors at 60, and smooths out at 65-66.

I also picked up on a steering wheel shimmy under hard braking. First time for that. Happened just a little while ago on my way to the Loves here in Dublin, GA. I think somethings loose in the front end.

I have a preplan to TN tomorrow, but I'm pressing the issue with maintenance that they fix this problem. If it is a steer issue, it could have grave consequences. I'd hate to have one of those.

This was sort of a recovery, except I got to keep it.

I'm not totally sold on this truck yet, but I'll give them the chance to make it right.

    Hey buddy,

Great Christmas with the kids. I had five nice days off. USX is taking care of me, and still keeping me busy.

I would never train. Not my thing, because you don't have a lot of say in the matter. Besides, I'm becoming selfish with my truck....lol. I'll stick to solo for the moment, but I have been giving some thought about changing fleets to dedicated if I can get what I want. I'm not interested in a physical work out, but I wouldn't mind running the Tractor Supply accounts if there is such a thing.

Are you staying busy? I haven't seen you in a long time. We have to work on that, dude.

You dont have to worry about that much, just use your brakes a bit between the ramp and the parking spot, and if your really worried leave then free for about an hour then pull them. I have NEVER parked overnight with my trailer brakes not set, and i've pulled into TS's in snowstorms and still didnt freeze. Just saying if you have a chance for a Idle bonus or whatever dont throw it away to keep your brakes from freezeing lol

Well luckily i've had a hood before way back when i was 18, but after being in a aero truck for so long its going to take a little while to get used to again. Took a few hundred miles to get used to Aiming the truck (with a wide cab like in a FL, Volvo, or even a 387/587 pete, you tend to aim just left of the center of the lane to keep the truck centered, well in a narrow cab truck you have to aim further to the right or you'll be riding the zipper/yellow line all day:biggrin_2554:)

Then getting used to haveing stacks will take a long time to get used to, when you back all you can see is the stack, so you either have to go solely off the mirror or open and lean out the door to see the end of your trailer. Simple fix is dont back into tight spots as long as the truck is almost straight you can see just fine in the mirrors to get it in. Then again i blind sided into a tight parking spot in the CAT drop yard first shot just useing the mirror (didnt even use the power mirror :biggrin_25525:) thanks to W/S lol

The biggest thing to get used to though is the wheelbase and how little the steers turn. On aero trucks your steers turn pretty far on hoods not so much. In fact the Cascaida when it first came out had the "Best" turn radios the steers turn 50* which is way better then any other truck out there. So you have to start your turns earlyer and SWING ALLOT wider. But with pulling a 48' trailer it makes it a little easyer since you have 5 less feet of trailer to swing.

I love this truck though, i would be happy in this truck forever lol

Can you take it to a dealership (I know ... Cringe) since it might be an issue that warrantee would cover? They might have more experience than the company shop... Just a thought...

They'll handle this in their shop first. USX has plenty of shops, some are better than others.

I'm not ready to see this tractor at a Freightliner dealership. :biggrin_25513:

    Happy New Year Everyone. :biggrin_25511:

Tonight I'm spending New Year's eve at the Pilot in Hammond, LA.

After my delivery in Dublin, GA, I was to pick up a paper load in Augusta, GA and take it to Hebron, KY. Problems with pick up numbers on somebodies end made the load unavailable, so I dead headed to Fairburn, GA, pick up a load and headed to Hammond to deliver this morning.

And now it being New Years eve, the chances of getting a load out of here were mighty slim. So, instead, I sat back and watched the parking mêlée as I munched out on some Cheez Its. :biggrin_255:

I'm not sure where I'm headed because no preplan has been assigned, so I might be here for a bit. I'll know more tomorrow morning.

Just wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year. :biggrin_25514:

    Thanks for reading.
