    Congrats Wedge!

Central seems like a good company to start out with. I'd be looking at them if they still had their pet policy!

    Good luck to you.

Thanks Wulfman. :biggrin_25514: Seems pretty decent so far. Yeah, the pet thing is getting to be old policy in most companies these days. The only way around it is by going lease or o/o. And if you go go lease, you really have to have your game face on or you'll lose your shirt.

True, but still some good companies out there with a pet program (W&S and Conway TL)

Interstate has a pet policy but you need a year before you can go there. So I have options, albeit slim ones, but hey it's all good. :)

Who knows might find some other options once I'm in school.

Unfortunately its the previous drivers that got the pet policy abolished. I have done a few truck recoveries for Central and can totally understand why they stopped the pet policy. Of course there are drivers out there that can't clean up after themselves let alone their pet.

Oh I understand their reasoning, just thankful that some Good companies still have it in place though.

From what I hear, there's trucks without pets in worse shape! :biggrin_2554:

I agree with you, chompi. But I also think that the companies should enforce some standards that the drivers are required to adhere to. There's no reason in the world why a driver should not be allowed to have his dog with him as long as his truck stays reasonably neat and presentable.

Heck there's drivers out there that don't have pets with them that can't keep the truck reasonably neat and presentable! :biggrin_25524:It's not that dang hard! A couple rotten apples spoil it for the whole bunch.

    wulfman75 and Wedge Thank this.

I know. A driver should be proud of the truck he drives, and greatful he or she has a job. A neat truck takes almost no effort.

Let's see them invite their mothers to go for a ride.

There are some real slobs out there! I am sure you will get to see a few.

It is nice having your dog with you. Especially as a single driver. I absolutely loved having my pup with us. We would go hiking, swimming, playing in the snow! She was a good guard dog too! Unfortunately she learned how to blow the horn. (the steering wheel horn) From that day on we had to pull the seat forward so she couldn't get in there every time we got out of the truck! Dogs aren't the only pets people bring with them either. I have seen cats (oh yeah and their litter boxes, disgusting!) birds, snakes, IGUANAS! You name it. Somebody said they knew a driver that had a monkey! Maybe a lie, you never know!
