No kidding! I'm a retired trucker, married to a trucker, and my dad is a retired trucker too. :yes2557:

    Hey Wedge,
Man I hope you get going today it's not looking a whole lot better this morning than it did yesterday. I was wondering about the chain thing my self, but I do remember from class that chains don't work as good on ice as they do snow, still better than nothing I would think. It probably catches drivers by surprise around here, it's usually not that big of an event around here. I think when snow and ice comes in that fast Ga DOT just doesn't have the equipment, manpower, or budget for it. Also remember that Atl. area is probably one of the biggest transport hubs anywhere. Anyway hope you get out at least by this afternoon anyway, oh and going SW.
    Good Luck Wedge,
    Randy

Hate to burst your bubble you guys, but there is already a "Hooters" next door to the track here in Daytona! (I ate there the other day) Isn't that nascar, somewhere warm, beer and women? Unfortunately Daytona is such a crap hole! How bout we get a track going in Central America? The beer is even better down there and the women, WHHHEEEEEYYYYYEEEEEEE!!!!

    Just an idea though!

    Spacecoast and Wedge Thank this.

I need to head out to get a couple of things before I hit the road, and I can't even leave my driveway or the complex I live in. It's a sheet of ice.

I'm from CT and we get plenty of snow up there, but it's expected. We just deal with plowing out the driveways and we head out. But this...this is just lack of of resources. All I can do is watch. If a snow plow or sanding truck would come by, I'd attempt to venture out. I do have an all wheel drive vehicle (car not truck).

But for now, I'll just pour myself another cup of joe, and watch the news.

I am curious as to what Lilbit has in mind. I think she brokers loads these days.

That would be the best, driving for an O/O, as long as I make a decent weeks pay.

I don't know if this weather is being broadcast down there, but the race track is a gigantic truck stop right now. Nothing moving. Talk about needing portable potties. :biggrin_2552:

Nope, I don't broker loads. I didn't have the money to set the biz up right, and that's the only way I will start a biz.

I've got some other things in mind, gotta get the thoughts straight first.

    Wedge Thanks this.

    I understand completely.

Once you get it sorted out, I would be interested in knowing what you have in mind.:biggrin_25511:

Any updates on the driving conditions in the Atlanta vicinity?

Last I heard the lower half of the racetrack from 85 to 20E was still closed.
