Something like education (which I'm a big supporter of) I take seriously. The reason for that is back when I was college, there were people in class who just took up space: didn't contribute, half an effort, no studying, did just enough to get by. I guess you look at it differently when you pay for it out of your own pocket.
I'm actually a class clown by nature. I look for the funny in everything.
Well, I have to go back to school on Tuesday. Other than that, I have a few errands to run. Probably get back into my morning walk for the week. That's about it. In other words, I'll be bored.I may go up when the recruiters are there. I love putting them on the spot.
Still thinking hard on the company. My choice will be based on what works best for my needs at this time. By that I mean what aspects of the company are really the most important. That's how you make the most of your first job. Ask yourself "What's important to me?" and it will make choosing a company a lot easier.
Sorry Sammycat, didn't mean to soapbox. Figured I'd throw that out there for those that are reading.
I'm glad Chris heard something about ORG. That saved me the trouble of writing something noble on ORG's thread.![]()

Hi everyone!
Just a quick post about my "make-up" day. I had to sit in with a new class and put in the time I missed by already having my permit. For some reason it doesn't quite register.
Anyway, this new class was larger than mine (12) so seating wasn't exactly plentiful, but I found a nice spot along the wall next to the white board. The instructor was able to use my presence to help keep a topic in discussion. I would add my 2 cents every now and then. It's easy to do when you've already taken that class and you pretty much know what he's going to say.
The class ended at 1:30 in preparation for the new wave of DOT examinations and thus my day was completed.
He's an update for you. I mentioned back a ways that originally I applied for a WIA sponsorship for school. And for one reason or another it was delayed and elected to just pay for the school out of my pocket to get things moving. Well, it turns out that the sponsorship was finally approved, and the school refunded my money. Now that made my day.
If you are planning to use WIA funding to pay for school remember that it can be a long process. You need to be prepared to wait a minimum of 4 weeks. My situation was more the exception than the rule but the system does work, so have patience. If you qualify, it'll happen.
So next stop for me is the range which I'm scheduled to begin on Monday, November 1st.
That's it for now. I'll keep on posting.
Thanks for reading.

Hey Wedge!!
So what do you do in the mean time now waiting to get out on the range? Just chill?Wedge Thanks this. -
Sorry double post....phone having a brain fart!!! Or possibly it is a user issue!!!
Wedge Thanks this. -
I do have some chores that need my attention. The house is new so I do have a list of "wanna do" items but they're money dependent so I have to pick the ones that don't cost much.
I did go up to the school yesterday so I could sit in while a recruiter from COMCAR Industries did her sales pitch. They have a decent reputation so I figured it was worth the trip. They're big on "autoshift" transmissions which is not my preference.
Otherwise, I'll enjoy the home time while I wait for Monday to arrive.Spacecoast and sammycat Thank this. -
yes enjoy! You know that once you get in the rig you will be practicing in your sparetime and then once OTR....well home time can be far and few...
Go trick or treating or something on Sunday!!! LOL!! I won't even say what you can dress up as for Halloween!!!Wedge Thanks this. -
