Sorry to hear that Wedge, I have problem with my right ear as well. Mostly a wax build up thing but it does hamper the hearing. Passed the DOT no problem though.
Hope you get rolling again soon.
On a side not I got my permit yesterday.

I explained to the doc out here the situation and she's looking into hearing aids that talk to one another. Paying for them is a whole other story. Once I hear back from her, I'll be talking my way right to the top of the pyramid if need be. Central is only at fault if they blindly back this trainer.
I'll be keeping you up to date for sure. -
Wedge Thanks this.

Congrats on the permit, Wulfman. I never doubted it for a minute.I'll be looking for your posts on starting the range and diving practice.
Avoid wearing sneakers if possible. They're not reliable getting in and out of the truck.
Good luck next week.wulfman75 Thanks this. -
wow 28 days of training..........thats way too long

Slippery in the fuel island huh? Gets all over your clutch and brake too! #### near killed a guy at the fuel island cause I pushed the clutch in as he was walking in front of my truck and my foot slipped and clutch sprang up! Luckily my foot landed firmly on the brake pedal! It's good to keep a rag in your door pocket to wipe your feet off.
Like I said Wedge, don't be afraid to talk to the superiors. They don't mind. Sometimes you have to go above the people without the power. I know it feels funny and you don't want to step on toes but when it comes down to business you have to do it sometimes. Believe it or not we talked to the top boss twice, and we was more than happy to help us. That is one reason I recommend Central. They have gone above and beyond on more than one occasion to help us out. One piece of advice, if you do go in to talk to the top dogs dress up! Don't let them think you are just another shlub truck driver. If you portray yourself as important then that is how you will be treated. A good planned speech and documentation helps too. Good luck man!

Congrats Wulfman! You are well on your way! Shout if you need any help. LadyK your next!

I'll be sure to dress properly if I need to meet with the big guys. -
Sorry to hear that your trainer went that route just because he didn't wanna talk a little louder.
I know a little about hearing improvement asmy dad has been a hearing specialist and owned his own hearing aid business for 30 years or so.
Make sure the Doc you see is board certified and has the newest technology available. It's amazing what can be done in the world of hearing improvement these days.
As far as the money issue, I would suggest talking to you local Vocational Rehabilitation office. Voc Rehab (its short name) is a program run, in most if not all states, that helps pay for medical type stuff if it's needed for your job. A lot of my dad's customers are able to get help with the cost of their aids through that.
Anyway, I will be praying that you get everything sorted out soon and be watching this thread for any news.
KateyWedge Thanks this.
