This pisses me off!The DOT certified you to drive WTF...I know about the hearing thing but if your trainer just took the time to speak a little louder and a little patience, this would be all that was needed to move through training..You passed through your CDL test and I admit I was worried about that but you passed..Flying colors..I know you can drive so this is not a he cant hear me so thats unsafe...Was this trainer in the sleeper and felt you could not hear him from back there?I know what your saying about central but if they have docs and put you through for training then yank you because of 1 trainer then its them too.My rant is over and I hope you get through this..This is BS and trucking companys are going over board with medical issues that are frankly USDA corn fed BS.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention.

On the way back, someone stole my cell phone when I stopped in St. Louis. :biggrin_2556:

I figured while I was sharing...........

I'm going to to have a conversation with Central tomorrow and see if I can get this back on track. I don't like being sidelined because of a trainers "opinion".

I have investigated new generation hearing aids if it comes to that. I'll most likely need to enlist the services of Vocational Rehab to pay the bill.

But first, I'm having coffee with Hamsterrock. :biggrin_25525: At least my fellow classmate's going solo.

Thanks for reminding me about Vocational Rehab. I'll look into that approach if Central insists on an upgrade. I did talk with the doc about new hearing aids so I have information at the ready.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

That's what I think, Sammycat. Wedge was too much of an effort.

Well, I'm not going to just go quietly away. I'll be heard. :biggrin_25511:

    Where I'm At. :biggrin_25511:

    Hello Everyone.

After a weekend of getting organized, I met fellow TTR member Hamsterrock for breakfast in Ellenwood, GA. I took a quick tour of his truck before breakfast ('06 F/L Columbia). He's 2/3 of the way through his training and he's excited to be heading out solo tomorrow for the final portion of his training (EVO 3). God speed, Hamsterrock. Stay safe out there, buddy .

I took the short ride to my home terminal in Conley, to plead my case about getting another trainer. I found out I have to deal with SLC directly, so I'll be sending a formal letter (e-mail) to training in the morning. I will specify my concerns about my previous trainer and request to be made available for dispatch immediately with a new trainer. I'm looking forward to their response.

In the meantime I've met with the Vocational Rehab office and started the application process in hopes the State of GA will subsidize the cost of my replacement hearing aids.

Speaking of hearing aids, the doctor is investigating hearing aids that can talk to one another in the hopes of providing a more balanced hearing environment when I'm in the truck.

And I replaced the phone. :biggrin_2554:

So I hope I won't need to take too many more steps backward before going forward. All this energy I'm expending should be used to move freight and earn a living.

I want to thank all of you that have been supporting me throughout this endeavor. It's times like this when friends are the most important commodity one could have. My heart warmed thanks go out to all of you. :biggrin_25514:

That's the latest. I'll keep you informed of my progress.

    Thanks for reading.
