Good to hear some good Wedge!!
The ex worked (briefly I mean 5 months) for USX last year. He was based out of Berwick PA since that is the closest to Rochester. He trained with a great old driver of like 30 years for about 5 weeks ( I want to say he had to have 160 hrs or something....?) Then due to some openings he ended up on a dedicated route for the Dollar Tree Store. It was not a bad gig-basically Sun to Fri or Mon to Fri. He would pick up in PA at the DC and did NE runs. He did have to unload but the pay was decent and he was making decent CPM (compared to what I have seen on here for a new driver) His DM and FM were both very nice and they actually knew him by name when he was at the DC! No complaints what so ever from my end. He lost the job after a preventable accident (hit a light pole)
His tractor was an 08 ( I think ) Volvo 760 (?) sorry it's been awhile LOL. They were all autos but I have read USX is possibly going back to standards. The Volvo (despite all the jokes) was roomy inside vs the Freighliner he trained on.
Hopefully it all works out for you! Just make sure you take EVERYTHING you need to orientations- I know this and have read it in threads and maybe PM current TTR Members working at USX-one missing paper is a bus ride home.....again no complaints about USX
Wishing you best of luck my friend!!!
ps Hopefully you feel better saw you posted on AT's thread you feel like crud!! -

I am glad to hear something new is in the works Wedge!
You did more than your fair share to try and make hings work at Central, now it's time you get on the road and hopefully USX will be the ones to help put ya there.
Will be checking back for updatesWedge Thanks this. -
I have no idea what I'm getting over, but I certainly don't want another one. WTFI hate being sick. I do have a question/observation about loved ones caring for you when you have a serious cold: Why is it when my sense of taste and smell are not functioning, my family chooses to make all of my favorite foods?
The only way I can tell the difference is by their shape.
The way I see it, when I'm sick, they should serve up food that I don't like, and then when I'm back to my normal self they can reward me with with consecutive days of my favs.
Make sense?
In other news..........
I just received word that the doctor's letter I need will be ready for pick up late this afternoon. So I'll be sending in my application package to US Xpress tomorrow.Time to get this show on the road.
That's it for now.
Thanks for reading.

I gave them more of a chance than I should have. Not a recommended course of action for your average new driver.
I'll keep ya posted. -
The reason family makes your favorite food when you are sick is it is a comfort! They hope it helps to make you feel better............ sometimes family feels 'helpless' and making something nice makes you feel like you are doing something to help!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Hello Everyone.
I just got off the phone with the recruiter from U.S. Xpress. I have been invited to orientation in Tunnel Hill, GA.I have a choice of which orientation class I would like to attend (6th, 13th, 20th, etc.). It's nice to have that type of flexibility.
They start orientation classes on Monday and Wednesday of each week, so I have plenty of choices.
USX provides lodging during orientation. I'm not certain, but my guess is that I'll have a roommate. I may spring for the additional bucks so I can have my own room. It's only for 3 days.
So that's the latest news. Unless things change, I'll be headed to the USX orientation in Tunnel Hill, GA. I'll update as soon as I can confirm my start date.
Thanks for reading.
