A Canadian CAN go to the USA with a DUI, but the reverse doesn't apply, a DUI in Canada is a Criminal Office.

Bomb Canada???? The last time we went to war we whooped your butts and burnt down your White House. Nice that you built a nice new one so we can drop by for a visit.

Well my buddy was Canadian and he had to go through lawyers and a bunch of cash before the US would let them in. My point was only to show that both governments can get sticky, not that one was better.

As a Canadian who has lived half his life in the US and does business daily in each country, I think I can speak with a some experience as to the differences. There are also a lot of myths about each country. There are definite pros and cons of each country. The grass isn't always greener, and people are people everywhere.

    One example for each country.
My favorite part of living in America is the directness. People generally say what they mean more than in Canada. This same trait that I like, is also what makes us jerks in this country when that directness is overdone.

In Canada, what will strike you, is that they are generally nice, I mean REALLY nice. This is great, but when doing business people are a lot more hesitant to say what they mean because they are so polite. I find things take longer to get done because of it.

Ask your buddy what other convictions he's had other than DUI. (Driving Under Influence) DUI does NOT stop a Canadian from crossing into the USA. By the way, in Canada we call it a DWI. Driving While Impaired.

That wasn't really my point, so I'll just say that you may very well be right and cede the point.

Anybody who has a DUI, DWI, or a conviction of any sort deserves to have their future limited. Mamma and Jesus can forgive - the rest of the world has consequences. I don't like the idea of someone affecting the lives of others and getting a clean slate themselves.

    Canada wasn't Canada in 1812.
    It was British North America.

    Canadian Confederation:1867.

And Tim Hortons Coffee sucks. But I have no idea if it's better than Dunkin's.
