This is true if you owe them money. Same with a paper check too.

 

Sending money home is something I never would have thought of. It makes a lot of sense considering the cost of wiring money and other ways of electronic transfer. The other reasons make sense, not what I'd do, but they make sense. Thank you for sharing.

I'm glad you're okay after the tumble. Growing up I had a spate of atonic seizures, and they're scary as hell. I knew they were happening but couldn't do anything but lurch, which usually made things worse.

 

Yes, atonic seizures are not fun. I was walking back to my apartment from the driveway after getting out of a friends car. I fell forward and hit my head on some bricks. I lost so much blood the Doc said he had ordered a unit of my blood type and had it ready.

 

That was my second worst fear with them. My first was failing into water with no one around.

You allowed to drive with that history of seizures? The only ones Ive done is when getting hit really hard by pipe escaping from binder and the muscles just lock it up then twitch, but it's localized for me. Injury type.

A electrical storm that generates a seizure is not a fun time for anyone. I only know enough to stuff something between the jaws to keep the tongue from getting swallowed.

 

In my case they weren't seizure seizures. The root cause for me was diet. I'm borderline hypoglycemic (genetic), was very active (was swimming 3.5 hours a day), and then started growing. I couldn't consume enough calories eating three meals a day to keep up with my body's needs. When I stood up part my brain wouldnt have quite enough blood sugar and say "forget this I'm out", I'd get about two steps, lurch a little a fall. Once I learned to recognize the symptoms I learned just to get to the ground quickly and as carefully as I could. 30 seconds later I'm right as rain.

Adding a large snack mid afternoon and eating just before going to bed eliminated most of them. But when I had an erratic eating and/or sleep schedule they would start up again.

Haven't had one in years, but I've also become much more responsible about my diet. In fact this is the first time I've thought about it in connection to a dot physical. I've never been on seizure meds.

 

I have the same #### thing you do. I don't faint. But I will get mean. Like really mean, it's not a emotional or mental issue, it is literally a symptom expressed by the body in a similar situation as yours. I eat like a horse solid meals several times a day when I work. Burn it all. 9000 calories in winter at -40 was not unheard of at 130 pounds and lumping trailers twice a day.

If I ate like that today I would be dead in a year.

 

Mine is caused by epilepsy. Got a nice get well letter by the Virginia DMV in regard to my DL. Can we say they said we want it back.
