Guess he wants to go into truck stops and try and lock it down but there is always bigger fish in the sea, there are drivers out here running 500 to 1000 watts, why I dont really know but they do

Of course I'm kidding, that's not my radio.

And why do I want the power? So I can talk to my coworkers who left 15 mins or more ahead of me without having to stuff an RF emitting device directly into my ear.

U don't need much power to accomplish what you want but good radio good antenna perfectly aligned will do the work, little help from mother nature could help too.

Forcing others to listen any kind of music or roger beep or whatever is surely good way to ignitiate animosity....

I hope you're right Wolverine. It's in transit now so we'll see soon. This thread has cast a cloud of doubt over my expectations. o_O

I agree. I've been driving for 14 years and have been annoyed by all of it. But it will be nice to finally be able to talk to my buds on a clear channel over DX during the long drives.

I have a bearcat 980 and a cobra 29 lx both deadkey 3.5 watts swing 15 watts tx and rx 10+ miles, a galaxy 99v2 and a general lee both deadkey 10 watts and swing 40 watts and tx and rx 20+ miles, and a bearcat 880 into a polamar 450 fet ld amp deadkey 75 watts and swing 300 watts(in my pickup) and that setup will tx and rx 30+ miles all day. Imo the radio wattage numbers are insignificant the key is the attenna set up on all examples.

A screenshot from my tune up report. Can anyone identify the piece of equipment on the left? I've never noticed it in any of his other videos.

It's definitely not at 4:1 though. DK is 62W and peak is right about 290... He shared the video via Google Drive but I don't have any permissions for it.
