    Rabbi said;

    “It also depends on how you plan on using the radio. If you plan on using it in a tractor trailer you're going to not achieve certain potential when it comes to the receiver which makes the costs almost not worth it but if you put it in a car or use it in a base station application you'll be in a much better position to utilize the receiver potential. You're always going to get more noise in a tractor trailer which negates any extra sensitivity you might have in your receiver, rendering all that extra money wasted potentially. For a tractor trailer the best bang-for-the-buck is a stock radio. I'm not sure if you noticed how quiet my receiver is but if I install my radio in a tractor trailer I'll lose a lot of that benefit.”

    So in other words, these guys that spent the big bucks on a fine tune radio, wasted their money since they are using them in a class 8 trucks. It sounds to me like they would have been better off taking slowmovers advice and put the money towards a DSP speaker. At least when they sold or changed radios, they still have the DSP speaker to make the new radio receive as good as a fine tuned radio.

    If Craig reads this, he’ll be pretty upset to fine out his Stryker radio will work better in his new house.

    Night Stalker-

    Im not drinking anyone's Kool-Aid. I'm just trying to learn and get some more info. I'm just trying to figure out that if my $300 set-up is exceeding the average drivers radio performance, than why pay 3x more for a radio that does the same thing but can only be used with .0000001% of the other drivers on the road. I'm just asking questions, that's all. Not trying to start anything.

    Besides pork chops there's only two or three other people that will even say Looney Tune is the best, there's absolutely no proof anything he does is better other than his 3 or 4 little cheerleaders saying it is, his videos are completely uninformative , boring, and are only made to bash other cb shops and feed his narcissistic ego, they prove absolutely nothing, there's no proof or evidence the radios he's even fumbling around with come from where he says they do , but what you can find are tons of Happy customers of Bells like myself and the ones back in the beginning of this thread that long ago lost interest after the chops showed up and started his rhetoric like he always does, so take it for what it's worth....

    I already told Craig not to expect miracles from his work truck and to focus on his Dodge truck for best performance. As a company driver, he can't get too crazy with his install in the Cascadia.
    There's plenty of proof but people with an IQ of 65 would fail to recognize it.
    If you lack the knowledge necessary to understand the proof then you lack the ability to recognize reality for what it is.
    If you listen carefully to my receiver you'll notice it doesn't sound like anything you've ever owned or anything you've ever experienced because everything you've ever owned has lots of static and noise coming out of your speaker covering up those weak signals. It's not even worth discussing anything technical with you because it all goes over your head.
    .0399uv vs .5uv sensitivity at both ends of the conversation easily doubles the distance between stations without increasing output power of either station.

    Because what you're listening to is greater than half a microvolt. It doesn't take a genius to figure out somebody 2000 miles away is hammering you with a two microvolt signal which is why they sound like they're right next door.
    Try listening to a stock Cobra 29 in a Freightliner Cascadia from 30 miles away with a signal of -130 DB and let me know how that works out for you. All you'll be listening to is a bunch of noise in your receiver.

    But again how do they here me 2000 miles away on my 2 watt 40ch bleedover Bells splatterbox you claim that I own? I know your answer will be over my head but give it your best shot for us low level under 65 IQ truck drivers that don't sit around in truck stop trying to talk to people 25-30 miles away lolllllllll

    wolverine11 Thanks this.
