The AT 6666 is a good radio right out of the box. Not much to tune. Slight power increase and minor mods in the audio path if you like, a tune that good techs (with smd skills) will do for about 50-70 bucks. But like i said, good right out of the box.
Timin770 and wolverine11 Thank this. -
I'm pretty sure he wants that galaxy look and big audio sound with the cool blue lights, which is what I prefer, plus it's much easier to operate when you're running down the road then one of those little push button beep beep beep things errrrr, you're not ever going to see that Lincoln 2 of mine mounted in any truck! ever!.....

TAC COMM TRC TWO RADIO CARRIER.
99v2 Galaxy
RM ITALY KL7505v
WM Radio ClearSpeaker
(Plus you have room for base station type coax and power filters. Scanner. Bandpass filter. GADGETS!!! Whatever floats boat).
And it’ll all sit on the front seat. Or the dash.
When you just gotta crank in Robot, Roger and Endless Reverb to stir things up . . . 99v2 pushing a few watts into 200+ shore is fun with the right mike.
Picked up a ####-talker on a GALAXY 95t today who stayed 4-6 miles ahead of me. I literally don’t hear audio that good from base stations. From mm 540 on IH20 into Dallas to where I peeled off at the 465.
All on a radio he bought off a guy in a parking lot in Vegas in the 90’s
And had BOBS CB check it over and dial in the Wilson 5000 on a Cascadia.
I didn’t think it was possible.
I’d love have a 95t. Starlite panel and 150w. NIB is $330 lately (see CB Radio Magazine Review)
Maybe he was lying all the way. But it was audio good enough to kill for.
The WM Radio ClearSpeaker could distinguish him even with BIGGER radios trying to #### him down. They faded with some distance. He didn’t.
He was bouncing off the moon. It was awesome.
Sell your 99v2 for an 86? Yeah, I think the 86 is nice but I’ll bet it ain’t near as much fun.
A McKinley & KL203 should be your comparison, IMO. See threads on WWDX and reviews on eHam. CB Radio Mag.
And Shermie is about the only one to go out of his way on the 66/86.
That’ll need to be part of your new signature. That you’re running a radio thats
HardDrive-Approved!!

I have to agree..I posted an ex of 2 radios goin the other way that were 1/2 mi apart that were either barefoot or amped and were a # of ch above or below the one i was on and were pushin almost 20db into my radio...
Hardly any techs in canadas east coast(ontario - novascotia-newfoundland) and those boys most likely went to the tech in quebec city, they surely had the $5 for $50-100...Gone in a few miles to.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

This new Lincoln 2 + is amazing!!!!! Got a little DX this morning and made several thousand plus mile contacts and was the guy everyone was trying to talk to for whatever reason, I talked to 1 guy on the Arizona New Mexico line 1500+ miles away and the radio got nothing but compliments and it sounds "crystal clear" from DX land, and that's with the mic gain all the way open chops , I like that 99v2 but this radio is about a million times better on ssb !!!!!! AM is a tie probably , I've never been a push button radio kind of guy but this thing will absolutely smoke that 99 V2 on ssb without even trying so I'll learn to like the push button beep beep beep thing lolllll plus it's dang near the size of a Cobra 29, just a hair longer with the heat sink on the back for you guys needing something that can be den mounted.....
For the money it's probably going to be real hard to beat, although I do hear good things about that anytone 6666 also, so if you guys have been thinking about getting one of these Lincoln's ,even with just a few hours on it I can recommend it highly, for whatever that's worth... -
I think the Roger beep can be disabled. A submenu.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
LOL 10/4 , I have the Roger beep off in fact there's a button just for that, you can even turn the beep off completely for changing the functions and channels but I kind of like it on, that way I can tell if I hit the channel buttons on the microphone, I just call it a push button beep beep beep radio because I'm (or was) old school and preferred Chrome knobs but this Lincoln is changing that...
