Less problems less parts and more uses.

It beats getting a ladder and crawling in the belly dump to get a big rock out that jammed belly dump door that will not close. That is a really pane in the but.

 

I used to run a hopper bottom if that's what's you meant by belly dump and rear dump. Used to run a little of fertilizer on the rear dump and more animal feed ingredients on the belly dump. I found the belly dump to be less of a hassle. I didn't have to mess with hydraulic lines, fluid, leaks or the PTO going out. the biggest help I found of bell dump/hopper bottoms were vibrators. When the load would hang up all you had to do was turn them on. I didn't have to climb up with the shove(or whatever else) and try to loosen it up.
