Benefits at Knight?

    My hubby is looking to leave Swift (numerous reasons, mostly bad experiences with FMs) and we're searching for a company with a solid benefits plan. The driver websites don't show much detail about medical coverage and the like, so we were hoping that someone who had first-hand experience as a driver with the company could shed some light on premiums and coverage.

    Would be much appreciated. As we're expecting one on the way, this is a huge deal for us.

    Congratulations...both on the baby and leaving Swift (worked for one of their fleet o/o's for several years).

    Cant help you with your questions as it's been several years since I worked at Knight, but I do remember that a driver had to be employed 90 days b4 becoming eligible for insurance..you got that much time?!:biggrin_25525:

    Left the trucking industry over 5 yrs ago, but remember Knight was charging drivers more $ for insurance plus adding restrictions on benefits the last couple of yrs I worked there..

    I imagine ALL large trucking co.s were/are doing the same, as insurance has become a heavy hitter in expenses to all co.s

    Wonder how Knight is going to handle their option of continuing employer provided insurance vs. paying the penalty and throwing their employees to the Obamacare insurance state/federal exchanges? Wonder if any rumors have gotten around within Knight about their plans as Obamacare kicks off Oct 1 this year?
