Getting my HM, Tanker and DBL/TRPL opened the door for me to go from reefer OTR to LTL, my goal when I went to trucking school two years ago. The TWIC wasn't that important to me because I don't live close to anyplace that uses it. The only endorsement I didn't get was the passenger. Just can't see myself driving a school bus. I did get my passport card but never did run into Canada. Mexico, no no no. Nice 2nd ID though.
    Just my $.02

Chances are that you will be pulling a Reefer or a dry van to start with. For those, Hazmat, TWIC, and Passport are the most useful. Tanker and Double/Triples are less important. Most companies will require you to get hazmat within 90 days of being hired. The Doubles thing means that the company can get away with hiring one driver instead of two and should be banned. (MHO)

No company looks at your license and is impressed with your long list of endorsements. If you have a tanker endorsement but have never driven a tanker they are still taking a big risk letting you drive off in an ice storm. I think that almost every new driver is getting as many endorsements as they can. As a professional driver, you are expected to have them. So get them.
