Yes, the more flow the better..

The issue is heat. Running too much power through a cable that is too small can cause a fire.

    HoneyBadger67 and Big_D409 Thank this.

I understand that my point is by using bigger battery cables you have more Amps (flow)and in turn less heat..

    I'll argue this point...LoL
You're not going to have MORE amperage, you're going to have a greater capacity to carry that amperage. It's like running water through a hose. You can (eventually) put out a house fire with a garden hose but you're going to get hella hot doing so. With a 3" diameter hose you're going to stay cooler while having the capability to run the capacity to put the fire out.

    JolliRoger Thanks this.

yes I forgot to add that my 2015 Cascadia still has the original 1500 inverter it came with. I added a tv, a mini fridge, and microwave, all connected to my in cabin outlets. I notice it’s starting to have a loss of power so I may go ahead and invest on a new inverter. Yes I have the truck on when using the microwave for that 1-2 minutes. Thanks guys!!!

The problem with too thin cables, aside from a fire, is potential voltage drop causing higher amperage loads which could overload the inverter. Only really a problem at high loads and if the truck isn't running.

Yes, but because I had bought it a while I was rebuilding he the truck I was out of warrenty by the time it blew.

Im running 1 awt (welding cable type stuff) through a 250 watt circuit breaker, 2 gauge would be way too small

I have an AIMS 2500 pure sine wave. I think I got it on Amazon a couple years ago, around $400. It's the best one I've ever had and I've had lots of them. It handles everything I throw at it.

Buy quality cable the right size and use big ANL fuse or breaker between batteries and inverter. Very important. I think I have a 250 or 300 amp ANL fuse.

I appreciate it!! Looks like that’s a winner for me. Yeah I won’t mind buying top of the line cables as long as everything works perfectly!! Any idea what cables you would recommend?
