The HP2000 seems to be a work in progress..
    Constant up dates...
Seems to me, we that have them are test mules...
They have backed everything up with good service, but it stinks when it doesn't work....
The controller has issues that they are working on....
I keep getting weird screens like this..
Have the new and improved controller waiting at the house..

I purchased a HP 2000 in august and have had no luck with it.My first problems started an hour after I got it pouring fuel out of it needed new clamps mechanics over tightened and broke during install. My first trip out the exhaust sytem broke and fell off. This thing has logged over 10 pages of error log messages and 4 per page codes and has reset and as of now its on about its 6th page. Ranges from over heating, high a/c pressure,no rpms,This thing has a battery monitor on it that has failed also.My unit has of now approx.600 hrs.on it and been in shop with some sort of problem after every trip.I have tried to get my money back and Parks industries flat out said no.The time before last that it was in shop for high a/c psi there diagnose was desecent bag in accumulator busting open and pluggin the capillary tube causing high psi.Ok so yes I could see this doing that but there fix was taking the accumulator drier off and leaving off.I don't think they fully understand the purpose of a filter drier/accumulator.Next trip out it was worse than ever so when I came back in I told them to put it back the way it was when I purchased it,they agreed but made me sign off on it with NO WARRANTY NOW ON ANYTHING So now I have a HP 2000 that I have had for 4 months with no warranty.I fixed the high a/c psi myself also found the coolant lines were hooked up wrong and the condenser fan was wired wrong. So if you are looking at apu's don't be like me and make a $9,000.00 mistake.Ever go to buy something and everyone is glad to see you when your writing a big check then when things go wrong you cant get a hold of the guy you wrote the ck to.And also I am not the only one that has these problems with Parks Industries.I have spoke with a trucking company in Earth city,Mo.They bought 10 of them and have same problems. And there are many more.

Powertech was mentioned one time in the last 6 pages. I have a Powertech APUC and have not used it yet because of waiting on an idler pulley i think it is. the unit has about 5100 total hours and is self contained meaning it is not hooked into my truck's ac/heat but does want to start up upon low voltage. I know it will run at least.

ANY info whether pro/con or whatever peratining to Powertech apu's that can be shared by anyone? thanks-

Just to clarify a long forgotten thread, the CCS Lightning was not a 're-branded lease....whatever' but a unit made by Mechron Power Systems. Mechron was and still is in the APU business from a small to massive scale. They make their products for various militias around the world including US Armed Forces. What made their truck APU superior to all the rest was that it had a direct drive, 6kw stator to provide 60amps. The A/C and heat were electrical and not automotive style A/C compressors dependent upon belt drives, nor plumbed coolant to provide an inferior heat source. It ran at a slightly higher rpm 3650 as opposed to 2800 of all the others which meant inside the cab, it hummed instead of whap, whap, whap. It's oil change interval was minimum 1,000 hours due to its oversize oil pan and could be extended with the use of synthetics.

Having a foothold in other aspects of the industry, it is assumed Mechron found it umprofitable even after approaching Flying J and International who had built a few into the cubby holes in a sound insulated compartment. When they left the industry we lost the best potential option there was. Don't forget, there was a shore power and remote key fob options as well.

I bought one of those POS in aug.2014 and always breaking down would not refer ANYONE to purchase one.And Gary Parks is not a very good man to deal with he hides when he see you coming unless your handing him money. The last time I had my unit in for warranty work I picked up a very disturbing conversation on my dash cam between Gary Parks and the shop man Andrew.I think I will post it somewhere for all to see and hear how they treat people.
