Yeah, I edited that, it did have a fender. Funny how the mind tends to forget unpleasant things.

Drove a few DM 600's back in the early 70's, they were the Offset Cabs like the U Models

The hood is too long, and if you look close you’ll notice the left fender is casting a shadow on the cab and door. On one of those hideous offset cab deals the edge of the fender and the cab/door are along the same plane.

I'll always be a company driver,I care about how the truck drives down the road, and the comfort and convenience items.
The T680 and Pete 579 are pretty close in my book, but I prefer the T680.
    I'll never drive a Volvo,freight shaker or international again..:happy1:

HA! I don't think there is a name for these. I know, KW made a "cab beside engine" truck,

but not for this purpose. These cut down conventionals were for pipe hauling and may have had an emergency hatch in the back ( I think you can see it open in the pic) for the driver to get out.

    I don't know the models.

My very first local gig was a pretty good sized construction company. 600 employees. All his trucks were macks. The 80s models were built to beat but they sucked to drive. They also had super 10s. The 90s models were like Cadillacs. With 18s. Big improvements on his newer models. Compared to the older models.

It really depends on the engine in the international. I use one with a 500 hp Detroit and it’s a great truck. I don’t know what ratio gears it has in it but it tops out at 65 but no one will catch me on a hill.

Then we got another with a c12 in it... easily the worst truck I’ve ever driven.

My daily driver is a Volvo 670 flat top. It’s a good truck. 455 hp, doesn’t pull hills as hard as that international but I need a sleeper sometimes. Also a lot more comfortable. The emissions have never given me a problem in that truck and I’ve idled it a week straight when it was -10.
