Cooper's BBQ in Junction TX on I-10 has truck parking. It's good. Not the best in the world but worth a try. If you do stop there, check out their cooking area. Very impressive.
Best bbq pits out there?

Depends if you actually know your BBQ or just like stuff with a sauce slathered on it. Actual real BBQ, that is good, is rare.
Soulmans is passable. Texas Best is awful. Bodacious in Tyler on the 20 is decent. I've stopped at a couple of places on the 10 between San Antonio and Houston - none were any good. BBQ at any truck stop will suck.
The only place that I've found that is worth making a point of stopping at, if I can, is KDs on the 20 in Odessa. Brisket that will melt in your mouth, no sauce required.hrtbr8kr Thanks this. -
Got a new one for my list. Loveland BBQ across the street from Pilot in east ATL, off xt 51 on I285. The smoked wings and pork sandwich were excellent. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. You can also call ahead on CB16 or their phone is 404-246-7896.
Good eats for sure. -
How about KC area? Can bobtail there while on break. Lots of choices, just wondering if anyone knows of the good ones.

I've really gotta make my way up there sometime and give it a shot. Every other place in CO I've been recommended for barbecue has turned out to be disappointing.
Soulman's is decent.
There's a place I'd go to in Nolensville, TN called Martin's BBQ Joint. It's located really close to the Antioch TA, and you could go right up the road from the TA to get there... except that road is truck restricted. I don't remember the exact route I took, but I took a series of backroads to get to it... I'd go one exit south of the Antioch TA, and go from there. It's located in a shopping center where there isn't dedicated truck parking, but you can park a truck in there and get back out. It was featured on that show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so you can probably look up that episode to find out more about it. I like the food, I like the atmosphere.
In West Memphis, there's a place called Roadside Barbecue, which has truck parking. The "no truck parking" sign is in reference to trucks parking overnight, trailers being dropped there, etc. - the lot itself is actually there so that truck drivers can park there and get something to eat. They are a cash-only business, so either have some on-hand, or pay the ATM fees at the gas station across the street. Don't remember the exit number, but it's Highway 147, south of I-40 about 1/4 mile. I'd recommend their pulled pork sandwich (so many people offer a pulled pork sandwich, yet so few get it right).
The best Carolina barbecue (which is also my favorite) is in Lexington, IMO. However, I've never taken a big truck to any of the places in Lexington, so I don't know how well that would work out. However, if you're driving through Raleigh, on exit 303 on I-40 (Jones Sausage Road), there are two Wilco-Hess fuel centers on either side of the Interstate. If you're eastbound, you'll turn left, and if you're westbound, you'll turn right, IIRC. There's a Smithfield Chicken and Barbecue place there. It's a small chain in NC which does some really good chicken. If you get the barbecue chicken, be sure to have plenty of napkins handy, because it's going to be messy as all hell. There's also one located by the Wilco-Hess on exit 312 (NC Hwy 42). The Wilco-Hess doesn't have truck parking, but you could park somewhere in that lot long enough to get something to eat.
On I-59 in Alabama, exit 174, you have the Steele City truck stop (located on the opposite side of the highway from the Love's) which has a pretty decent restaurant there... large beef ribs with a wet sauce, generous portions on the sides.
Big Foot BBQ on US69 in Caney, Oklahoma is another one. You can park a truck there, it's right off the highway. I wasn't thrilled about their pulled pork, but I really liked their BBQ brisket sandwich.hrtbr8kr Thanks this. -
