I kinda prefer this heavily modified 10 meter receiver over a noisy low gain stock cb radio. I would never have heard this Freightliner Cascadia from this distance with a stock unmodified cb radio. A stock Cobra 29 wold have lost him within 15 miles.

Hard to beat the 102 for your truck. Cheap and effective.

The 1 cb shop in ontario i pass by on my way home has closed its doors..Finding one in my travels in the usa might not be so easy.....Found a nice riser that looks like the top mast of a big coil ant that designed with a 3/8's shaft that just screw in the ant stud....It will make the 102 an adjustable whip type idea..

Come on Craig I tried to keep it as plain and simple as possible, remember I am a professional steering wheel holder and incapable of using " Hi-Tech" words, they dont exist in my truck driver vocabulary, lol !

Of course in typical "lets complicate things" the interjection of 10 meter/export radios as superior seems to land here too as it does anywhere else "cb'ers" seem to be.

Sorry OP, this f it was between the two radios that the OP had to choose from which one would it be?

If there is valid advice to be given, it is any one that works is the answer and always will be.

If there is a need to keep it simple, Just get a cobra29, a used one may or may not realignment but no matter what, it is the antenna that matter more than anything.

This would only be true under a very limited set of circumstances and only if certain conditions are met and outside of those circumstances a stock Cobra 29 would be the best choice
For most people this is probably the smartest choice
