I do not sell coax and I do not pay for your coax. Therefore, the choice is yours it makes no difference to me.
    .
.If you are using a single antenna setup which will require 50 ohm resistance coax cable but not using a high power radio setup, you could use any one of several 50 ohm resistance coax cables such as: RG58 which has a 0.34% signal lose per foot, RG8X which has a 0.22% signal lose per foot, LMR 240 which has a 0.16% signal lose per foot, LMR 400 which has a 0.14% signal lose per foot or some other 50 ohm resistance coax cable. Coax cable that has lower signal lose costs more than other coax cable. At 18 feet or less that is commonly used in mobile cb radio installations, it does not make that much of a difference IF you are NOT using high powered equipment.
    .
Now if you are using an amplifier or a high output radio, that is very much different.

I use rg142u. low loss, small diameter easy to run good up tp 1.2. I have used it in everything from Peterbilts to Police car never had a problem. Available from Belden or Andrews. Just a real good double shielded 50 ohm cable.

This is simply not true. RG142u by Belden.

The problem is that RG-142 has a solid core, thus not recommended for high vibration environments (such as mobile). Its loss characteristics are very similar to RG8X, slightly thinner, and has a higher power handling than RG8X. Oh, and it costs 5x as much for no real benefit on CB.

Yea, good info in some of them. I now know that the clear coax is useless.:biggrin_255:

I have LMR400 for my base at the house but I wouldn't recommend it for mobile because its not flexible enough I dont think and its about as think as your thumb
