OK here is important advice that no one is telling you.

Focus on learning how to drive, do not worry about the crap of making food and coffee until you are on the road for a few months, if not a year.

    Why?

Because you will be so worried about what to eat or drink than you are driving, this is usually the case.

For the record, I have four 1/2 gallon Stanleys, which are used every day. I can make coffee at home, it is a little cheaper, and I use a pot - a cowboy coffee pot which guarantees no one else will drink it, it sits on the stove all day long if I am home.

If not, I grab one of the Stanleys, I take it to Love's or Pilot on the way to my office, stop and get it filled up, and pay $1.70 or so for a 1/2 gallon of coffee or tea (the loves makes it better).

It stays with me all day long. I get home, put it on the counter for one of the kids to clean, and start all over again the next day with another one.

The reason I am saying this is you need not to worry about it, driving is what you need to worry about. Being a new driver, being it is winter time, don't worry about what to make in the sleeper, or if you have a fancy french press or crap like that, coffee is coffee.

Can’t beat a percolator in my opinion. We used one for a long time at the tractor show till it finally gave up…..
