    Gonna be construction season soon.

You want otr? I’m sure cemstone, knife river and aggregate industries will be hiring.

What about mme? It’s line haul, you could run to Fargo every night or something and make easy money.

Any good companies out that way you could haul fertilizer for? I’m in Minneapolis but can’t think of any off the top of my head.

What's the name of the company you're talking about that hauls lumber?

Thanks for the input guys. I actually prefer to do otr or regional. I'm unable to get my cdl on my own right now, because I'm flat broke.

Sounds like you could pass the test if you could somehow get a truck to use. Check with local Mom & Pop type companies and see if they would let you use their truck and then work for them.

Yeah I'm fairly confident I can pass it. That's why I'd like to avoid going to school if possible. I'd prefer to work for a smaller mom and pop company. So that's why I'm hoping someone will mention a smaller company that I can contact in hopes of giving me a shot.

Do you live near Albertville? I know nothing of either of these but I saw Long Haul trucking and Fernholz trucking. Also, Superior carriers is big around there. Maybe go to a truck stop and see what you see there and talk to drivers of those that look promising. Best wishes!

I live just north of the TA in Rogers off of 94. I used to work for a vinyl graphics shop in Rogers that used to letter long haul trucks. So I know about them, but it's very hard to find a flat bed company that hires with no flat bed experience let alone hire someone that technically has no cdl experience. So it's gotta be a van, reefer, tank, or even hopper company.

I bet my company, Britton transport out of Grand Forks, ND would hire you. They are a smallish company but a good one. They have reefer, van, and flatbed. I'm flatbed. They cannot help with your cdl but I bet they would hire you if you got it. @MrEd is the only flatbed trainer for Britton and hopefully will chime in. Best wishes!
