Geez guys DSK333 is right. Engines don't really matter. Gear it right and select the proper gear to pull the hill. You hp junkies, torque gets you up a hill, not horse power. Now I recall early 80's my old man had a car hit and total his Freightliner, so he ordered a new one but had to wait 5 months to get it. So he comes up with a 1970's IH transtar 238 detroit, 6x4 and 5.13s? I think. On hendrickson suspension. It pulled a set of doubles, Pittsburge, Cleveland, to Detroit at 100k on the deck more one would care to know. Accelerating you could walk faster. But It got the job done day after day.
