Flatbed is all for me. I like the labor involved but as I mentioned I was looking into ROEHL because they have everything.
-
Have you looked at Yourga or Nic Strimbu?
-
Never heard of either of those companies.
-
Do either of those companies hire students?
-
I know Nic Strimbu does.
-
@Chinatown may know of others.
-
I doubt they have Cheesecake.

Boyd Bros isn't on your short list.
Not much info about the company but they'll get you home weekends.
Currently I'm at Melton and doing very well. Cameras are in all trucks. Talk on the phone all you want as long as it's hands free. Home time is 1 day for every week you're out. Gotta stay out for 2 weeks minimum. APU, Inverter, new trucks have fridges. Treated like family every time you call in, tons of help out here. Securement videos loaded on your Qualcomm if you need help with a certain load.
Basically anything you can think of that would be nice to have Melton gives it to you. They've taken good care of me and if I have a problem their response is "how can we get this fixed as soon as possible" and not the typical "finish your load and then we'll worry about it."
With that said when you have a family I would take the job that gets you home weekly. An APU/fridge/inverter/microwave/TV or whatever else you can get for being OTR with a company like Melton won't help you see your family.ZephyrSoCal, LilRedRidingHood and crazeydude Thank this. -
You could try Systems Transport (http://www.systemtrans.com/home/company-driver-opportunities) as well. Their site does say “Western Pennsylvania” for the OTR division but it never hurts to ask if they would hire as far east as you are.
