I think that would happen with any trailer with an aluminum deck. I developed a couple holes in my deck when i was hauling palletized stone evrryday. Those tiny rocks get under the pallet and wear a hole.. have the same problem with the company im with now. Some decks have a #### ton of holes in them. But they buy only cheap utility trailers which are the worst quality flatbeds ive ever run

    Oxbow and Labebe Thank this.

Dropped my Mac step at the dealer on consignment.
Tell you what I toured that Alliance Ohio Mac open deck plant- They build a stout trailer. High quality.

however: i do rough work. Be like bringing a nun to a ##### house. I rather let someone treat her good than wreck her in unimaginable ways.

Personally, I’d pay the extra money for the reitnouer. If it increases your capacity With a stronger beam then it’s worth it.

I have a Dorsey steel giant, definitely not something you’re looking for

I will look for a Wilson since I start hearing that it is the ultimate owner opp trailer

I drive with a Fontaine revolution 53 for over two years had no issues but they were brand new.
Fontaine is not cheap and not very light weight

Don't you consider a 53 foot Wilson instead of a Mac?

If a Wilson had drum brakes and no lift axle and a Mac did have discs and lift, I would go Mac. I don’t think I have ever seen a Wilson with discs and lift axle.
I bought my Mac 48x102 13 years ago brand new and it has well over a million miles on it. I’m the only person that has ever pulled her. Other than it has drum brakes and the dreaded axle flex (Hendrickson experimented with thin wall axle housing tube 9mm vs 11mm) it has been a great trailer!
