The true owner ops that I know don’t work hard at all. One guy I talk to made 9k gross this last week on 2300 miles, stepdeck. Another made 5300 on 1900 miles.

Nobody leased to a company is making #### compared to that. Not even close to their lifestyle. And the thing is, having your own authority isn’t really all that much work either. There are all in one shops like OOIDA who will file everything for you. You literally cut the checks and it’s not even expensive to do so... then you call on loads and tell them what you’ll haul the crap for. 19 calls later you have your 1350 on 12 miles expedited or whatever crazy ### load you held out for, and you run it.

Leased to a company, you can’t afford not to run a load every day.

 

Not really true to generalize like that just most of us with carriers making that kind of money don't advertise our rates .....kind of like the expression all flash but no cash lol I would say though most good deals require you to bring your own truck and don't hold your hand either
