Dollar General has their own trailers but I think most if not all of their loads are pulled by a variety of Mega carriers.

Werner, Swift, Schneider, Averitt, US Xpress among others.

I going to give you a quote that if you follow it you will be rich.

Do what everyone else is doing but do it better or do what no one whats to do and charge more.

Flatbed.....best way to truck. First or second time you deliver to some grocery warehouse, you'll probably agree. Or spend 36 hrs in some hick town in Kansas waiting with 300 other bobtails to get a trailer loaded with dead cow parts. Or spend 28 hrs in Bowman, Fl waiting on a load of tomatoes. I could go on, but my reefer days lasted less than ten months in '93-'94. Far happier tarping in cold weather.

Well mr ed I am looking at howard, tmc, and mcelroy. Had an uncle that ran for mcelroy back when they used macks. He enjoyed the company but not the work. Personally I think Id enjoy flatbed i like being active and moving around

Where is home for you? TMC isn't a bad place to start. Pretty good training program there. I worked there almost 17 years. I might still be there if they'd have been able to get me home right, that last several years I was there. But in their defence, I do live in South Dakota. Many companies wont hire me at all up here.

I am hooked to a reefer, it's on maybe half the time, I just did 19k miles in the first six weeks of this year.

Its usually a matter of working for the right people.
