I have a worldNav. not really alot of info out about them but mine does good. could be better could be a lot worse. I got it when truck gps 1st came out, it had the best ratings that I seen. I let it get directions then check a map and any other directions I have. I just got the new maps so idk how they are but the last 1s were good id be within 500 ft.

There is no definitive "best" for every driver. Your 4 major players are Rand, Cobra, PC Miler, and Garmin. And only one of those makes a trucking version for a laptop. I run these through the ringer as a tester pretty much daily and each has strengths and weaknesses when put up against the others.
If you just look here in the electronics section of this forum you will find that the information is on the "bleeding edge" as well as a historical account of past models by each brand.
Of these 4 brands, they encompass no less than 16 different models. Now consider that each model has its own specific strengths and weaknesses and you will surely begin to see how muddy the waters are.
The reason that your question was met with such joviality is because it has been asked so many dozens of times here by users that have just created an account without poking through the threads for a day or two.
BUT THERE IS HOPE. Both Rand McNally and Cobra have actual factory representatives here to ask technical question of and each has threads dedicated to that purpose. IN ADDITION, there are tons of users with pretty much every brand and model previously mentioned that post into those threads, and a great many of those other drivers are putting out constructive criticism and kudos for their experiences with each. Conversely they also sound-off when there is a recurring problem. And as soon as you have it all digested... one of them will come out with a software or hardware change that alters the game again.Last edited: Sep 1, 2011
