I use a car GPS :). I guess when I deliver on a bunch of 10 ton roads it doesn't really matter what I use haha.

I tried a car GPS and the difference with the rand 710, the rand gave instructions a lot sooner so there was more time to get in the correct lane. It also gave instructions two turn in advance.

"Turn right and then turn left in 900 feet"

So you knew you had to get over.

GPS is great. It tells you where the roads are, but you still need to know/decide what roads to take.

The Garmin Dezl sports a fist of features but most will only work in car mode. :biggrin_25510:

If there are two turns very close together my GPS tells me there are two or more turns before I get there.

I agree with the statement I quoted. You always need to preplan and make sure you know what roads you need. I personally use my GPS just as a reminder of where to turn in case I am distracted or forget. Since I'm more of a local driver now I go to the same places quite often which is nice :). To places I haven't been before I write my directions on the windshield so I know where to go.

My RM 510 has been great so far. It has attempted a few questionable turns but common sense overruled it.

Yes, the 710 has routed me down roadways that have been changed. The new truck route is different.

But it has a feature for us drivers to submit those changes to the company, when we do an update on the GPS. Not sure how long it takes to get the changes made though...

Map updates take about a year. This is due the mapping company has to verify the correction and get it into the system.

    Thanks,
