OK, I have an old garmin street pilot c330 that i still use. The only trouble I had with it is I replaced the suction mount. In truck mode, it won't warn you of low underpasses or weight restrictions but it does keep you off of roads that prohibit trucks. It also has a thumb wheel on ther side that you can raise and lower the volume without taking your eyes off the road. And the best part you can pick them up on Ebay for $20.

The 710 seems to have more than it's share of problems. I've had a TND510 for over a year now, and couldn't be more pleased. It needs to be rebooted occasionally - all embedded Windows systems need that, but otherwise it operates flawlessly. I prefer it over Garmin and Cobra products, its much more useful.

I've had, abused and overused my Garmin nuvi 1450 since last summer. Love it for most things, but wanted a truck specific GPS. My trainer has a RM500, which he loves EXCEPT...the screen is too small to see all the detail when driving. So when I went to buy a truck GPS, I got the RM710. Bigger screen, lots of features that are really nice, a bit pricey, but I can cope. So far, so good...time will tell if this is a good purchase. Til then, I will keep my receipt and the packaging with me in the truck, "just in case".
And to the nay-sayers who say it's silly to have gadgets in the truck when so many before us used just eyeballs, spittin' in the wind and foot to the floor...or that a GPS is a GPS is a GPS...you drive you way, I'll drive mine. And my hope is that with the gadgetry I use to assist me in day to day driving, I avoid doing something stupid that can't be fixed with duct tape, WD-40 or a waffle iron.gdyupgal and SilverShadow Thank this. -
