Morning,
Simple fact is that there is no "best" GPS device. There is only the one that you are the most comfortable with. I would recommend Googling the Diesel Boss and going to his website where he has an excellent comparison chart of the top brands- feature by feature. Then buy one. If you like it stay with it. If not, take it back and try another brand. Just remember, no device is 100% accurate and that you are still responsible for the safe and smart operation of your truck.

Stay away from the 700 series Rand Micnally. They are nothing but problems and rand McNally is not honoring their warranty.

How long have you had this issue and did you try to contact Rand at all during the warranty?
Please post in the support thread.

I ran the Cobra 7750 Platinum for over a month in a big truck, and now use it (in car mode of course) in my Jimmy. Over all, I'm really happy wih it. Large screen, clear easy directions to follow, easy to program. The down side some of the route it uses are a bit longer than the roues I actually drive, but it does correct fairly quickly.

I agree, another app you might want to check out ( android only ) is called Big Road. This particular app is totally free and provides real time mileage logging, navigation, Pilot locations as well as service locations for Mack and Volvo. It also logs your hours in both Canada and US as well as provides CAT service centers locations. In my opinion this is an invaluable tool for new drivers as well as anyone who is looking for a helpful navigation and information unit. Check it out it's free in the Play store.

i agree with the rand issue--they are great if they work--i have been through 3 in about 4 months--first was broken in the box{mount}--- next one lasted two weeks--the last lasted just ovwer a month--just long enough i couldnt take back to the ta---next my wife spent in total about 3 hours on hold with no luck with rand--i sent an email--no reply--she finally got ahold of somebody and was told to fax reciept in---have done that twice and no reply---very pitiful customer service --so now i am still using my 7 year old trusty garmin, while waiting to find out how i can can get a 400 dollar lemon fixed
Boardhauler Thanks this. -
Thanks,

I've had a Rand 510 for a year and a half now. Zero issues - it is much more useful than a Cobra I had or the Garmin.
