Me too.
But mine is almost 2 years old, and I need to invest in map updates.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
i think any truck gps is most likely similar in quality, and most responses will be from people who picked one and stuck with it. i,too, picked garmin, and id buy another if i needed one. "if it aint broke dont fix it" mentality.

I love my Garmin, but it is just the car model. They did not have the truckers model at the T/S when we bought our first one in 2008, I reckon they had them then but just did not carry it. Originally bought a different brand that I did like, you could set a whole lot of via points to get it to go the way company routed you, but it would lose it's mind right in the middle of an intersection, or going through the mountains. And with the car model if you lived in the same area all the time it kinda of had a learning computer in it, it would route you the way you chose the previous time if the address was the same.
This is the 2nd Garmin now that I have had, the 1st died. The old one had all the favorite pitstops, one place in AR that had great fried chicken livers; it is just limited on how many you could store.
His 710 has the fuelstops of most of the major places, etc. I haven't looked at it much, being at home and didn't want to mess it up. He has finally figured out how to get it to detour to a different route if you don't like the one it is on. -
I think I did hear that the 510 was great, that the newer ones had some glitches in them. -
I got mine in Sept and started using it Oct 1. I bought it specifically because it came with "Life-time" maps. That's what was most important. I was finding cheaper versions of it, None of those had LMT's though.
Haven't had any glitches. It would be interesting to hear what those "glitches" were. -
only glitch ive had (and ive heard others tell same) is when the gps thinks ive decided to go off road. using the routing provided, traveling on one of the highways, and all of a sudden the gps shows im not on a road, and advises me to get back on one soon. happens very seldom...i think it may have to do with a highway that has been physically rerouted.
