I was just reading my repair manual. The nuts on my wheel bolts require a torque of 450-500 ft/lb.

Where do you guys get your torque wrenches.

Everything I see in that ft/lb range is $700 or more.

    Any suggestions?

I have already been looking there.

Any suggestions on what brands or types to avoid?

I am also looking on CL at used models.

I bought this one off of Amazon. I have had it for quite a while and I've had no problems with it.

It is 4 feet long and you have plenty of Leverage to get the right torque on those lug nuts.

Thank you. I have been looking at the digital gages also.

Has anyone done any reviews of its accuracy?

Any torque wrench you buy needs to be calibrated especially if bought used. Don’t let the impact monkeys loose with the impact. If fastener doesn’t turn before wrench clicks it’s over torqued. I have a Napa torque wrench. Been good for the last decade or so.

I don't know you have to contact them there is literature on what the accuracy is supposed to be. It actually may tell you in the ad if you click on that. There are alsoI think reviews on Amazon and maybe Google. I seem to remember someone saying something about it but it was quite some time ago I purchased mine.

I can only tell you that mine is very consistent.

I am pretty anal about mechanical things, but I have no qualms about torquing my wheels with that torque wrench and going down the road and then retorquing a few hundred miles later.
