Flawless spotless perfect track record one HORSE show here. I may be naive or just not out there enough but all of the owner operators I see and the few I know personally run tip top operations.
Not saying otherwise. Don't know you other than on here. You seem like a pretty solid guy. Point I was trying to make for OP is that boards don't necessarily tell you if a carrier is reliable. And if OP is looking for one off movements nationwide, individual owner ops mightn't be able to meet all of his business needs. Not saying that there isn't opportunity for him to do work with them, but it isn't neccessarily realistic to assume that one or a handful of individual owner ops can be available to cover all of his freight based on what he's outlined.
Just get an account on truckstop.com Interview your potential carriers , check their insurance and mc status, experience ... go with your gut from there ... You can post your freight up to truckstop.com if you are a member. Either there, or DAT loadboard... you just fill in the details to the "T" of what you want the carrier to know (on your posting), they call, y'all discuss, and make a deal- then make it happen
