Verizon no longer offers unlimited Intarnets.

You want unlimited you will need to go elsewhere.
Spring or TMo of the big ones.

    Or smaller or prepaid carriers.

i've had verizon for the last 3 years. never seen unlimited advertised.

i've always stuck with sprint becuase they've been the best bang for the buck., specially with their latest unlimited plans. but time will tell how sprint plays out in the future, with their coverage plans, new ownership and ceo.

when i was a home boy, sprint worked just fine for me. never had the need for verizon and their expensive plans. hope to be a home boy again, soon. grown tired of the gypsy life.

their no credit check phones are $100 refurbished. AND unlimited everything for $60. and it's month to month. no contract. with a little inginuity, you can throw the hotspot in the mix.

I have Straighttalk as my cell service on the Verizon network. I pay $45/mo for unlimited talk, text & data. It's a no contract plan and much lower than going through Verizon directly but I get the benefit of being on their network. I just have to always make sure the phone is a model that Straighttalk will put on the Verizon network and not one of the other networks that Straighttalk utilizes. I don't know if they have or how to activate "hotspot". Maybe someone can teach me how that works.

I have Verizon unlimited, since I signed up before it went away. Thing is; I have to get new phones from Craigslist or, if I want to spend the big $$$, buy them outright from Verizon or some other retailer. I'm usually using a phone that's a generation or two old, but it's worth it to keep my unlimited.

not knowing anything about the straight talk deals. but from i see so far. they aren't capable of hotspot. and really lack the features of a conventional phone.,

looks like internet is also capped at 3 gigs. which isn't enough if one wants to use their laptop for more then just the occasional surfing.

ladytrex, your just going to have to break away from the straight talk and buy a full fledged phone. unless anyone on here knows of some better deals. i can only suggest sprint with the details i posted above. as of right now, they have only 3 models for the no credit check. none of which i would recommend unless . and get the month to month plan. they have that option over buying a phone with a 2 year contract.

look at wirefly.com and see what's avialable. since the phone can basically do anything a computer can do just about. these days. you want a bigger screen, and you want android with 4.0 or higher operating system. WITH mobile hotspot feature, bluetooth, 4g, and wifi. that's going to be the easiest and cheapest way to accomplish what you want.

    LadyTRex88 Thanks this.

Thanks for evaluating my phone situation I appreciate the feedback. What I need to know though is why do you say my phone/service lacks the features of a conventional phone? I have a Huawei Ascend Plus (http://www.shopstraighttalk.com/bpd...ction=view&productVariantExtensionId=22694317). Straighttalk has all the phones most carriers have I just have to make sure that I buy a model that keeps me on the Verizon network because I am not willing to switch and going through Verizon directly, even on a prepaid basis, their rates are much higher. They also have a bring your phone program so I am not limited to just the phones they sell. I guess what I need to know is what benefits are there to changing carriers and phone? My Husband also has Straighttalk on the Verizon network but he has the Huawei model that is one step below mine so to speak. Thanks for your help!

    I think this will clarify:

    a) StraightTalk devices do offer "unlimited" plans on the phone itself like you have. They use various CDMA or GSM tower providers depending on which device you buy. As you say, you are using the CDMA network device. So that is capable of using Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular towers. (so this means good cross-country network coverage)

    b) StraightTalk will throttle the data speed down after you reach 3 Gb in any given month and speed it back up to high-speed at the beginning of the next month. (so this is not a problem if you stay under 3 GB per month, but generally unusable speeds for things like video streaming if you go over 3GB on that phone for the rest of the month.)

Quote from the bottom of ever page on their site: "*30 day Unlimited Plans include 3 GB of high speed data per 30 day cycle. After 3 GB, your data speed will be reduced for the remainder of the 30 day cycle. High speed data is restored once a new 30 day service plan is redeemed at the end of the 30 day plan cycle. Other limitations, terms and conditions of service apply. Straight Talk reserves the right to terminate your service for unauthorized or abnormal usage."

    c) I have not found a StraightTalk phone that supports the WiFi hotspot function "natively." But that doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. Also, they allow you to "bring your own device" and there are lots of phones with hotspot capabilities built in these days. HOWEVER, StraightTalk is still going to require that you purchase an additional limited data plan if you use a hotspot in the phone, or if you get one of their native hotspot devices.
( see their data plans for hotspots and tablets, etc here: http://www.straighttalk.com/wps/portal/home/shop/serviceplans/hotspotserviceplans/ )

Quote from their hotspot data plan page: "Mobile Hotspots and Tablets are only compatible with Straight Talk Data Service Plans. Straight Talk Unlimited Plans and All You Need Plans will not work with these devices"

This is how I am reading their pages. So certainly, if anyone has more info, this would be a great place to post it.

*disclaimer: all of the above info pertains to non-rooted, non-hacked devices.

I have straight talk and a factory jailbroke refurbished Galaxy Note 4 for 300$ off of Amazon, I did root the phone to allow me to hotspot it to my laptop and I do get 4g speeds until the 3-5gb data cap is hit then it slows to 2-3g speeds, I however unlike most of you always use ATT GSM network and I never have any real issue except for mb a random dropped call when I hit the bottom of a valley while driving lol

I will say that I am looking at T-Mobile and their unlimited streaming plans for 40 a month per line for up to 4 lines with 10gb a line n up to 20gb of rollover data, and you can have a seperate hotspot as one of the lines so you're not tieing up your phone for the laptop

Go90 app on Verizon is supposed to allow free straying of limited tv, movies, videos.
I haven't had time to sign up. So I can't tell how good it works.
