There are a lot of carriers that care more about providing service to their customers as that's how they stay in business.. there are a LOT of shippers and receivers that do not even allow human passengers let alone no human passengers on the entire facilities. Having pets is great, but they are a bigger detriment for business than they are an asset to them. The issue is that for companies is that allowing pets does nothing but cost them extra money.. more that they will ever get back from any deposit.

That may be the case sometimes I suppose if your company has alot of customers that don't allow pets. But in 2 yrs I've only had the issue come up twice. When you find a company that understands driver happiness is just as important as customer happiness this issue won't pop up frequently.

I can't imagine a single benefit of having dogs on board from a companies point of view but I could name ten off the top of my head for not allowing dogs on board.

Ever go to a large house with only a couple of dogs and it takes 20 minutes for the stench to acclimate to your nose. What does a truck smell like with 2 filthy dogs on board regardless of size. I just don't get it.. No offense but I would not hire anyone who demands dogs on my truck. Get your own truck and ruin it with dog stench.

Companionship for the driver, drivers will feel less lonely and will stay out on the road for longer amounts of time.

Listen you obviously had your mind made up and I don't want to waste my time defending my stance. There are benefits and down sides to companies allowing drivers to have animals. And ultimately it's up to said companies on what they feel is important. Not two random drivers who opinions are irrelevant on the situation.

Just couldn't let it pass without the cheap shot on exit? Look, I have been working on both sides of this industry for over three decades and have seen the benefits of having pets on the trucks and the problems involved when things go bad for both the pets and the drivers. So I get it.. my opinion to you is irrelevant because YOU have your mind made up and of course my opinion has to be made irrelevant by you so you can disregard all of the common sense and factual things I have stated about having pets in a truck. My (and other people here with real experience) opinions will be valuable to those who have never been in the industry and to those who are paying attention. I also do not waste much time "casting pearls before swine". But being a person who has watch drivers lose their pets and seen drivers abandon their pets on the road more than a "couple of times" ... The information is there for those to heed or ignore at their own peril..
