Ya, it's no minor issue. It can be really bad.

I'm 6'6" myself. Any truck that doesn't have a wall behind the seat (or cabinet) will be a HUGE benefit. The older KW and Petes with modular sleepers SUCK! NO legroom. Same goes for the older CH Mack trucks. The newer Macks with the same cab as the Vision trucks are ~7" deeper, and aren't too bad.

I run a long hood '04 W900L Areocab/72" Areodyne sleeper. I wish I had the Studio (sofa couch), though. The mattress is wider than the 62" flattop on the T8 we have, so I have no more floor space than before. :( But, I can stand up all of the way.

On the Bostrom seats our trucks have, the seat tops can be unbolted from the base, and repositioned back, without having to move the base back and drill new holes. There are 4 adjustment holes on the rail. The factory puts them in the front holes. I moved mine to the rear holes, which gave me another 2- 2 1/2". I can now put my legs straight out, and run with the seat within a 1/2" of the bottom of travel (unless the roads is crap, then I give it a bit more air).

I HATE running trucks with a set back axle. Always had to go to the chiro. Ride like CRAP! Only been once since getting the W9, and that was from falling on the ice. :D Even talked to a guy that was running a new T660 KW. Gonna sell it and go back to a long hood Pete or KW.

The KW Areocab sleepers are wide enough I don't touch both walls, unless I really try.

The Unibilt Pete cabs and sleepers look like they should be long enough, but I don't care for the clutch pedal coming up through the floor.

I am not to big only about 6'1 but have bad knees. My pete unibilt 379 is nice because I moved the seat back and can stretch my legs straight out ahead of me. I did drive a freightliner century a few weeks ago and no legroom at all. The cabnits behind the seats really are in a awfull spot. I also drove a volvo vn780 and had the same problem. My pete has a lower based seat in it and I roll with no air in it so looking under the visor is not a issue for me.

I'm 6'5" and have found the KW aerocabs are nice because the back of the cab opens up into the sleeper and you can slide the seat back a lot farther than a standard cab. We used to have a daycab with the standard cab and I'd have the seat all the way back against the wall, and still wished it would go back farther. When we got rid of that one, we replaced it with an aerocab with KW's extended daycab kit, gives about another 6" of room over the standard cab. My only complaint is with the newer style KW interior- with the older ones, when running on cruise, I could take my right leg and stretch it out between the clutch pedal and the steering column. In the newer ones, the steering column doesn't leave room to do that.

I also like the seat from Sears, their Elite 80. The bottom seems to be wider than others, a lot more comfortable to me.

    Brickman Thanks this.

    I drive a 2007 4900series Westernstar.I love it.Very comfortable.
I drove Macks for 10 years.I am 5 ft.11 and always felt cramped in a mack.Macks are very reliable but not much on driver comfort.
I like the couch set-up in the Kenworth w-900 that the other driver in this thread was talking about.Seems like a nice set-up.

I'm 6'6 and have driven mostly bulldogs. I'm cramped as hell but have gotten used to lifting my leg around the wheel to push in the clutch and avoid ripping off my turn signal switch. Oh well.

I am only 6'4, but i have a 42" inseam, am running a 03 379, got tired of bumping my knees on the dash and steering column, so I got a 4" back seat relocate plate from ebay. Wow what a difference, if I had known that 100 bucks would make my life that much different I would have invested in it 2 yrs ago when I got the truck.

Well I'm 6' 1.5" and the Volvo VN780 I drive is ***very*** comfortable for myself and the sleeper area is much nicer (IMHO) than many others out their....I just LOVE my Volvo.

6'4" here, and I have a Volvo 630 midroof. I love the autoshift trans, keeps my bad knees much happier, and its one of the reasons I purchased this truck. I can stand up directly from the drivers seat, and dont bump my head anywhere. I love being able to stand all the way up to put my pants on in the morning.
Although if I sleep on my stomach my feet touch the wall. Otherwise I am as comfy as can be.

I would think any of the widebody trucks will have more room, than crawling though the "cave" type sleepers.
