I appreciate all the help! I definitely feel a little more at ease knowing I can get to work immediately after the academy especially since I'll be quitting my current job to go to school. The tuition repayment isn't that big of an issue to me since I'll be using my GI Bill to pay for school anyway. I'll keep an eye out for Melton since I've heard nothing but great things about them. I don't mind putting in the hard work. Like you said, I might as well make that money while I'm still young(ish). I'm assuming from your username that you're originally from FL?

Don't forget to get a room through the school. Nice rooms for three weeks, Mon thru Thur, only 100 for all 3 weeks.

Why would you want to go to a mega when you could work for Cypress out of Jax and know what your home looks like?

Never heard of Cypress before. I'm completely new to this whole industry so I'm still learning of new companies left and right. But I'm looking them up as we speak! Thanks for the heads up!

If you want to flatbed, make decent money, and not work for a mega that will never get you home, they are your best bet. They are usually off on weekends.

Sounds like the perfect place to work! Thanks for the heads up glock. I submitted and application even though I don't have my CDL yet. I've been told by other companies to go ahead and submit applications indicating the dates that I'm scheduled to go to a truck driving academy and if they're interested, they would send me a letter of intent. So I figured it couldn't hurt.
