Best tires for mileage and quality?

Kevin Rutherford, if we all listened to him we would be driving 50mph in the left lane and hauling freight for .80cpm all in.

 

I'd like to try them but they only come in a LP 22.5 and I have 3.90s, so that's a little slower than I like to drive.

A friend used OOIDA's national account and saved "quite a bit" whatever that means, certainly more than the 50 bucks to join them.

The drives and trailer are actually 5 psi over what Michelin recommends.

 

I'd personally go with the Kelly KDA for drives.... I run a lot of mountainous back roads and had 2 of them on front left axle and Bridgestone 720 and 726 on the rest and changed all 3 axles twice while the Kelly's were about half tread life after the 2nd set of Bridgestones were wore out and I tried to get the company to start using the Kelly's but they have a good discount with the Bridgestone national acct they just blew me off but if I were buying the tires I'd never ever use Bridgestones for drives

 

I like the Mich tires. Track truer, last longer, cost more. I demand more from my tires than most. My truck makes my living. I don't quibble over $45.00 for my safety. That's just me. Others are fine.

 

I have those on my drives now, and will not buy them again. I believe that they do not make them anymore from what I heard. My biggest complaint with them is they hold rocks, and drive them into the steel belts, making them worthless for a casing credit.

 

Hmmmm I never had an issue with them and like I said I run the back roads with a few customers down gravel roads and the mills where we pull back hauls out of all had gravel lots so I don't really know must be a Midwest deal lol

 

I got 200K out of a set of KDA's. they were OK but traction sucked in the second winter. They weren't half the price of my XDN2's (edit: were more than half) but lasted less than half as long. So they were a more expensive tire in the long run. But if I thought I would sell the truck in the near future I might buy a set again.
