Recently, at times, the TZ has been a hot mess. Watching all the confused 4 wheelers trying to figure out what to do at the "no toll, keep moving" toll booths can be amusing and irritating at the same time. It gets bad enough they have signs all the way up by Newburg on 84.

Listen to 880 am radio when in the north jersey/new york/ct area. They give traffic and weather every 10 minutes on the 8's and are pretty good about back ups and such. You should be fine on a saturday as opposed to a weekday.

I came across the TZ last night. NY has really smoothed out 287. I pay my tolls so there's no way I'm paying $80 more to drive the Cross Bronx. Going south is a different story. Now that they've raised the thruway and Newburgh beacon tolls, there isn't much incentive to go up that way vs the TZ.
