Privacy is privacy!
A couple years ago a carrier was sued for several million dollars and lost because they had a new hire. In his paperwork and unbeknown to him he had signed giving the company permission to basically watch him on the driver facing camera because he was new anytime they wanted. He put in his 90 days and pass probation and then decided to have his girlfriend ride along with him for two weeks. Well like most young guys he and his girlfriend did what couples do in the truck and unbeknown to them numerous people in the office we’re getting there thrills watching it. Even cracking jokes amongst each other. Anyhow someone confided in the driver and told him what was going on. He immediately went and got a lawyer filed a lawsuit for a couple million dollars and won or it was settled. No company has a right to break an expectation of privacy. When I clock out that camera better be off.
Best way to disable a driver facing camera

Just don’t like the treatment. It doesn’t mean I have anything to hide. It means when a 4 wheeler cuts me off and sets off the forward collision alert I don’t want to have to explain to a manager whose never driven a truck that it was the 4 wheeler not me that caused it and the cameras won’t always tell the whole story.
Now do you get it ??CorsairFanboy and Waterman_99 Thank this. -
Sorry you are so touchy.
Be glad if your boss has a look at it. Then he will have a chance to see how skilled you are at accident avoidance.
Life is so much better when you put a positive spin on it.

Unless someone owns their ride, its not really up to them if there is a camera in it, or not. Snowflakes are welcome to buy their own trucks, but company truck, company rules. My dad wouldn't ever put a camera in my truck, because he knows me too well. He would be getting shots of my lunch, how muddy I am, my hat collection, everything I stopped and bought, me brushing my teeth, bloody fingers when I cut myself, and more. It would be punishing himself, I've asked him to install a driver cam before. All I got was laughter, and comments about why the F would he do that to himself.homeskillet and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -

That all changes soon, he is retiring, so self employed will be my next gig, and people can work for me.homeskillet Thanks this. -
Driver cams are great, asked at least 5 times for one.
Proof positive if there is an incident, you weren't asleep, reading the manual for your new tap & die set or makita grinder, didn't have the Nikon d7500 out shooting wildlife pics while doing 60. Embrace the technology, and the gift of having your ### covered if the #### hits the fan.FozzyNOK, homeskillet, Just passing by and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's some dumb #### right there. I'd have cleaned my truck out took pics and told em to get bent.
The camera thing would irritate me a bit, if you don't trust me to drive then why ####ing hire me?
It's not gonna prevent a mistake, just crucify the driver if he does make one. It's literally 0 benefit to the driver.
Maybe they need to stop hiring dirt bag drivers if they've got so many problems they need to babysit them.
