That’s not entirely accurate. UNDER the law there are things such as “expectation of privacy” this means anytime a person is in an environment when a reasonable minded other person would, “expect there to be privacy”, your company is not allowed to spy on you. I.e. when you’re taking a dump in the restroom. When you’re off work they are not allowed to spy on you, I assure you of that. No hidden microphones, no forgetting to turn the camera off while you’re undressing for the night, none of that. If they do that and you can prove it? You can retire early

They already are showing drive cam video in the safety meetings. They say they ask drivers permission to show their face, but the videos we’ve seen had the faces blotted out so guess so far they’ve all refused to give permission.

One video they showed you could see the guys tattoo on his hand so we all knew who it was despite the blotted out face.

One way you can all end this? Is of millions of drivers applied to these companies that have driver facing cameras. Go through the entire process through recruiting like you’re going to be hired. Then at the last second say “oh wait a second, you guys have those driver facing cameras? Well then I think I’m gonna pass I’m not interested.”

It's got nothing to do with having something to hide.
I don't mean to sound like an ####### but the argument you're making is quite ignorant.

A company wants to protect their equipment I get it but a driver needs to protect his license there is no doubt in my mind if something does happen the company and it's lawyers would do everything they can to use the driver as a scape goat. Even if it's wrong and they weren't messing up.

I have 0 faith in at will employment to stick up for their drivers 98% of the time.

Not only that but opening me up to civil suits by other drivers for them ####ing up? No thank you.

I tolerated an outward facing camera with cfi it was used to baby sit drivers bad enough.

Cameras controlled by office jockies are why they think they can hire the kinda guy that drive up an off ramp because he doesn't understand the road signs.

Or that a church parking lot is a perfect place to make a u turn pulling 45k in the box
