I remember that stretch of highway. You can see all the speed limit signs at the same time. There used to be a cop in an unmarked purple Camaro that used to stay very busy in that area.

6531, Semper FI, yep IYAOYAS! :biggrin_25519: Almost got sent Yuma, but got held up as a witness to on base shenanigans out of El Toro, when it was still open. Yeah, I'm old, but I made it.:biggrin_25522:

As far as your problem, most of the advice here is good, and that gentleman that mentions TVC may have a point. I haven't used them, but others have, plus if you plan to stay a trucker, OOIDA probably has connections to help. As one of the previous posters mentioned, stepping up to the plate and owning the infraction with an explanation and plea for leniency may help, talk to the lawyer about it though.

I know there are "revenue traps" but fact is we were speeding, if we saw the sign or not. What we need to do now, is get the damage dealt with through reduction and appeal, since if you do get them to lower the infraction, you then will need to make sure that your PSP reflects that, point wise. I would think the employer you were working for at the time, would have a vested interest in helping you to accomplish that, since his point situation would be able to be adjusted as well. It couldn't hurt to try.

    Good Luck

I run through Goldfield and Beatty all the time. At least for me, there is plenty of time and distance between signs to slow to the posted speed limits and the signs are clearly marked. But yeah, you don't want to speed between Armagosa Valley and Tonopah on 95. They are sneaky sometimes.

There's been an unwritten rule for NV for years. Do what you want out on the highway but get down to the speed limit in town. Of couse you've got to stay within reason but 80mph is common out in nowhere. I Remember up in Goldfield that the only cop there had a burned out headlight. For over 6 months you always knew where he was. I should also clarify, I ran those roads at night so the day time might be different. But U.S. 93 is the same as U.S. 95. Except there's fewer towns on 93 if you take the shortcut.

To the OP,fight it and pray they lower the speed violation down to under 15mph over.

Well speed trap is a possibility. I was driving s 35 in Oklahoma going to Texas in my personal vehicle. Speed limit was posted at 75... Came up a hill and right as I saw the sign on the other side of the hill sayin 65 I got a speeding ticket of 15 over.. Cop was sitting off the road about 100 yards after and said he clocked me at the top... I asked why I was getting a ticket of 80 in a 65 when at that point it was 80 in a 75 an he didn't respond.... And to top it all off, that ##### ticketed me that on my bday:biggrin_25516:

Several of us have used this service with satisfactory results . http://interstatetrucker.com/ . Just give them the info . You won't have to appear.
I disagree with the company firing you. That decision should be made after conviction unless they have EOBR's and it is company policy to use speed from EOBR's for termination.

Why fight the ticket. You're guilty just wake the heck up and quit speeding. You drove 30 miles over the posted speed limit, you may not get charged with reckless but if that charge is on your mvr, companies may have their doubts about hiring you bacause of how much you drove over the speed limit.
